Last email

We had a good week last week.  It's hard to believe that I only have one week left.

We had a difficult time trying to meet with Erik.  He has been busy lately, but he has been reading the Book of Mormon.  He's still having a hard time coming to church which we can hopefully work out this week.  The Busbys have been busy lately so I don't know how they are doing.  We have dinner with the Aguilars this week, maybe we can start getting them to come to church more frequently.  Teresa is doing good she hasn't been to church for a few weeks, but she made it last Sunday.  We were able to meet with Eric Pedroza the other day, he said he's not as busy anymore so he said he would have more time to read the Book of Mormon and make it to church on Sundays.

Nothing exciting really happened last week, same old missionary stuff.  Funny thing is after this week I will have spend most of my mission in El Monte, just in different wards, about 20 months. This will also be the last P-day of my mission, so I won't be emailing next week

We had a decent week last week. It's starting to warm up now.

Kristy and Umberto are moving, they were having difficulties with their landlord and other stuff.  so we they are going to New Mexico, where they have some family.  But they are doing good.  They plan on going to church there and still work with the missionaries.  Their plan is to move Tuesday afternoon.  It's a little sad to see them go, but things will go better for them in New Mexico.

We haven't been able to see the Pedrozas in awhile.  They haven't been home when we have gone over.  We saw the Aguilars they are doing good.  They have caught the sickness that is going around.  We still need work with them on coming to church.

We started teaching a kid named Erik Trinidad.  We has a former investigator in our area book.  It's going to be difficult to get him to church, because he told us that he uses Sunday for homework.  Other than that he is solid.  He reads the Book of Mormon and he prays  Once we can get him to come to church is should be smooth sailing from there.

As for exciting stories:  I tried octopus and pigs feet the other day.  Octopus isn't to bad just a little chewy, I would eat it again.  Pigs feet had a good taste, it was mostly the texture of the meat that I didn't like.  but it was a fun experience.

Thanks for the love and support.

Last week was a slower week for us.  But this week it going to be better.  We have plans to start teaching new investigators. It's weird to think that my mission is almost over.

We weren't able to meet with the Busbys or the Aguilars, It's a struggle with them.  Teresa is doing good.  She didn't make it ot church though.  We tried to meeting with Eric but he missed the appointment that we had and he wasn't ever home when we would go by.  He has been a little more difficult lately, but we are still trying to meet him and get him to church.

Kristy and Umberto are doing good.  They made it to church on Sunday.  We went over Wednesday morning.  Umberto had a along night so he was still asleep when we went over.  So we just taught Kristy instead. We taught her about the law of tithing and she committed to pay her tithing.  We are going to focus on helping Umberto to gain a testimony.

Nothing to exciting happened this week.  Thanks for the love and support.

It was another slow week. Things should get more normal now that the holidays are over.

Teresa is doing good.  She is going to get started on family history so she can take family names to the temple.  Sister Busby was busy this so we weren't able to meet with her, but she is good.  We just need to get her coming to church.  The aguilars were also busy but they are also doing well, if we can get them going to church more often that would be great.  We were able to meet with Eric again he is going good.  Hopefully we can get him and his parents to church.

Umberto and Kristy are doing good.  They didn't come to church because they slept in and was going to be late.  We let them know better late then never.  So hopefully they will start to coming to church more now.  We are going to keep working with them.  Our main goal with them is to help prepare Umberto for baptism and get them on the path to be sealed I the temple.

New years is like any other day.  We were in bed by 10:30, nothing special.  Nothing to exciting this week. We did talk to someone wo was going to a Christian church, then stopped because he got offended when everyone left the building during an earthquake.  Then he asked us if there was an earthquake in heaven would we leave God's house?  I didn't know there was earthquakes in heaven.

That is about it for my week thanks for the love and support

We had a slower week with the start of the holidays, a lot of people were out of town.

The busbys were out of town this week, so we didn't see them last week, and Teresa go sick, she didn't want us to come over so we wouldn't get sick.  fortunately she was feeling better to be able to come to church.  Glenn didn't make it to church either, the adversary has been trying him very hard.  The other elders in the ward have been helping him when they can meet with him, which is difficult with his work schedule.

Kristy and Umberto are doing well, we were able to meet with them.  They haven't come to church in a few weeks.  We have been trying to keep daily contact with them.  Other than the not coming to church part things are going well with them.

I can't remember if I mentioned this, but we found out Eric Pedroza is a member.  He was baptized about five years ago in Wittier.  then later the bishop found out his parents are members.  The father also named Eric invite Elder Phoompaung and I over for dinner.  Eric jr wasn't there but we had a good conversation with the parents.  they don't come to church because their work schedules have them working on Sundays. Sister Pedroza is going to try and get Sundays off after the holidays.  Our bishop works at the employment at the D.I. in LA, do Brother Pedroza has been working with him to find a new job.  Bishop didn't find out until later the Brother Pedroza was a member.  Their records are now in the ward.  They have been grateful that we come and see Eric Jr. because he has been a little wayward.

That is about it for my week.  Nothing to exciting happened to us.
Thanks for the love and support.

15-15-14

We had a slower week this week.  We got a little more rain and we should get some more this week.  We also had a shorter transfer, so we had transfer calls Saturday.  This transfer is seven weeks instead of six.  Both Elder Phoomphuang and I are staying.  I was also called as a District Leader.

We met with Teresa this week.  Her dad was there and sat in on the lesson, he really enjoyed it.  We gave him a Book of Mormon and he asked Teresa if he could come next time we met with her.  Teresa is doing good.

We weren't able to meet with the Busby's this week, or the Auilar's.  Kristy was sick this week so we weren't able to meet with them.  We have been trying to work with Eric Pedroza again a less active in the ward.  He recently found out his parents are members, less active.  We were visiting Eric Saturday the father invited us over for dinner, so there is some improvement there.

Thanks for the love and support.

12-8-14

We had a rough week last week, but we got some rain throughout the week.

We weren't able to meet with Kristy and Umberto because they forgot to pay the phone bill and we couldn't reach them.  The bishop stopped by and told us that they are doing good so we are going to stop by this week.  The Aguilars are doing good they didn't come to church, it's going to be a long process with them I think.  We weren't able to meet with the Busbys either they weren't able to meet with us last week.  The rain kinda of slowed things down for us.  Glenn is doing good but he didn't make it to church on Sunday.  Teresa is doing good, she blessed her baby on Sunday and she asked Elder Phoomphaung and I to stand in.  Her stepfather gave the blessing.  It was a neat experience.

All the missionaries in the stake and the Spanish stake go to be security at the Christmas parade in Covina.  Basically what we did was walk along the side of the road making sure everyone stayed back.  That's it for my week,  thanks for the love and support.
